Louvers, Vents, and Shutters
Functional gable vents, also known as louvers, play a vital role in ensuring proper ventilation in attics and crawlspaces. They are mounted in an opening on the gable end of the building, expelling hot and humid air to promote air circulation and prevent moisture accumulation that can lead to mold and structural damage. Non-functional louvers are purely decorative and do not allow air to pass through. They are installed directly on the exterior wall of the building. Louvers come in different shapes to complement any architectural style.
Shutters are an excellent way to enhance a home’s aesthetic appeal, and they have a long history dating back to ancient Greece, where they protected homes from the scorching sun. In colonial America, shutters were used to protect homes from the elements and provide security. Although most shutters today are decorative, they remain an essential component of many homes.
There are various shutter styles available, including louvered, board and batten, raised panel, shaker, and modern farmhouse. Our louvers and shutters are made of high-density polyurethane, a durable material that resists insect damage and weathering. This material is pre-primed, ready to paint, and virtually maintenance-free because it will never rot.
